Ode to Carlie!

It's just a few days away now and we're all so excited for Carlie's big day. And we're all so proud of who our CJ has become.

I can't wait to see everyone again, but in the meantime....here's a little bit o' Carlie.

Love ya, Carlie.

I Agree

I agree with Lace about the disgusting banter of this political season! I think the Dems realize they played the wrong card by not having Hilary on their ticket - not that I'm a Hil-Bil fan. But I do think the race would have a different flavor had their ticket been different. When McCain pulled the Palin card, he shocked the socks off of them, and the only way they know how to fight back is with vicious, evil attacks. I think their reactions to Gov. Palin gives us true insight into their character. I also think all of this once again proves who the Prince of this world is - and he is not our friend or savior, and his mission is the downfall of our nation, our families, and personal faith. Thanks be to God that He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world!

Blessings,

Deb

Can I get a nod?

I'm SO sick of hearing about this election! It is amazing how unfair and left-sided the media can be! I'm so disgusted with The View, Charlie Gibson, CNN, Matt Damon...and on and on and on. Why can the media not give a FAIR AND BALANCED approach to reporting? Why can people not speak of their different opinions with respect for each other's beliefs? But instead, there is continuous fighting and personal attacks. Is anyone else ready for this to be over? I'm so sick of people fighting!

NEW POST!!! YAY!!!

I really do not have a lot of news to report. I agree with Deb, we need to post more often on here....we should all take turns.
I will not be able to attend Carlie's wedding. I am quite sad about that. BUT the good news is - I will be in Canada. I am excited about that!!I will be sure to post pictures about that trip when the time comes. In the meantime - here are a few pictures of what is happening in B-Town (Burleson.....not Brownwood)

Chris like to pick Denver up by his shorts....
My friends new arrival from Ethiopia. Abe Alexander! You can read about him here.

Denver loves the mini van
A visitor in our backyard. Read the report here.

Anybody there?

Hello out there in blogsville! Today is Sept. 9, and no one has posted since the 5th! I'll catch you up on my piece of the Milburn world -

We had Carlie's wedding portrait pictures taken Saturday. I haven't seen them yet, but I think some of the best ones will from an old (1890) tabernacle that she had found on one of her real estate ventures WAY out in the country. There was an old cemetary adjacent to it that had several confederate flags posted by markers. I ventured out into the vast array of tombs to get a closer look, and behold, they were markers of folks who were alive during the Civil War! Being the history buff that I am (even tho I teach English), I was in cemetary heaven! - Until my scooter high-centered itself about 50 yards from the tabby! I was stuck in the hot sun looking at a grave of someone I didn't even know! Of course, Garry had to come rescue me, and off I scooted back to the picture taking. I'll attach a picture of the historical marker - if I figure out how to do that. Well, that's all for this post. I'm saving other tales for future ones.

Blessings to all,

Deb

Hoe-Down? Is it in the dictionary?

I think this is a great way to stay connected! Great idea! I can't wait to see more pics from this past weekend. Benson and I had a great time. I also was wondering if the Milburn kids were going to stay in Bwd the night of Carlie's wedding for the hoe-down? :) Is that how you spell that word? :)

Hello, Family

Hey, I think this blog is wonderful! I was too bushed last night to sign on and try it out. Thanks, Katy, for creating this outlet for us. I like the pictures that have been posted. I'll try to get some on tomorrow.

LD was fun. Thanks to Mike and Gala for hosting the fam. Garry and I along with the folks stopped at Jnet's new pad on the way back to Brownwood. It is is very nice and easy to get to. I love her new furniture!

We celebrated Garry's birthday tonight. I'll post a picture later. I've got to get to bed; I'm weary!

Love to all,
Deb
